Generic programs address generic problems. When the challenge is specific, the response needs to be too. SSL's Bespoke Leadership Programs are built from the ground up for each organisation, drawing on over 35 years of leadership experience across military and civilian contexts.

Every bespoke engagement begins with understanding your context. Not just the presenting challenge, but what sits beneath it: where trust is present or absent, where the gap between leadership intent and impact is costing you, and what sustainable change would actually look like in your organisation. 

SSL Bespoke work operates across three domains. Each is grounded in evidence and guided by a consistent philosophy: sustainable organisational outcomes depend on the wellbeing and effectiveness of the people doing the leading.

LEADERSHIP CULTURE AND CLIMATE

Closing the gap between the culture you believe you have and the one your people are experiencing.

Most organisations have a leadership behaviour problem that has become cultural over time. SSL works with leaders to understand their own impact and builds the conditions for a high-trust environment that holds. People stay when they feel safe, seen, and valued. SSL's culture and climate work gets to the root of why they leave.


TRANSITION AND CHANGE

Building the human capability that sits underneath any change process.

Change fails on people skills, not technical skills. SSL works with leaders to develop the capability to communicate with honesty and clarity during uncertainty, remain composed when their people are unsettled, and lead with steadiness when the ground is shifting. Drawing on 35 years of leadership experience, including a significant personal transition from Royal Australian Navy service, this work is grounded in genuine lived insight.


TEAM EFFECTIVENESS AND COHESION

Building lasting capability, not a temporary uplift.

Talented individuals do not automatically make effective teams. SSL draws a clear distinction between team building, which creates a moment, and team effectiveness, which creates a lasting capability. Where appropriate, SSL integrates Lego Serious Play, a research-validated experiential methodology used by organisations including NASA, Google, and the UN, to surface team dynamics in ways conventional facilitation often cannot reach.

Program Delivery

  • Scoped to the challenge: facilitated sessions, leader workshops, team-based interventions, or a combination. No two engagements are the same.

  • From a single-day intensive through to a structured program of monthly sessions across 3 to 6 months. Transition and change engagements are scoped to the nature and timing of the event.

  • In-person or virtual, depending on the domain and design. Experiential work, including Lego Serious Play, is delivered in person.

  • Scoped and priced individually. A discovery call is required before a proposal is developed.

  • Led by Kym Viant. Where scope or scale calls for it, in partnership with a personally vetted SSL Associate working within SSL's methodology and standards.
